Neva Cherniavsky received the B.S. degree in computer science and mathematics from Tufts University in 2001 and the M.S. degree in computer science from the University of Washington in 2004. She was awarded an NSF graduate research fellowship in 2001. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Washington in 2009 for her thesis \"Activity Analysis of Sign Language Video\". She has published research in conferences and journals in diverse areas, including auction theory, accessibility, data compression, and multimedia. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the INRIA Willow project, based in Paris, France.
